 ROSC Welfare Requests

The ROSC Welfare Committee was established for the purpose of researching and reviewing welfare donation requests in accordance with our goal of providing monetary assistance to organizations for tangible, lasting benefits and services to as many people as possible.  The Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club (ROSC) is a private organization located on Ramstein Air Base in Ramstein, Germany.   The ROSC raises funds through the production of the Ramstein Bazaar.  ALL funds raised flow back into the military community, both in the KMC and abroad.

Welfare Committee Meetings

The ROSC Welfare Committee meets monthly (Except June and December)–the 2017 Welfare Committee’s deadline for submitting requests is listed below.  Requests approved by the Welfare Committee are then presented to the ROSC Governing Board for consideration.  Some requests require additional consideration by the ROSC General Membership.  Your organization will be notified when a final decision has been reached and if a check is available to mail or pick up.  The process can take more than 30 days to complete.

2017 Submission Dates:

  • January 13  February 10  March 17  April 14  May 19
  • July 14   August 18  September 15  October 13  November 18

  2. Checks will not be made payable to individuals.  Please verify your organization can accept funds in the form of a check prior to making the request.
  3. ROSC Welfare Committee typically meets the last Wed. of every month (except June and December). The deadline for submission of requests is listed above.
  4. ROSC Governing Board typically meets the 1st Wed of Month, request will not be reviewed for approval until this date.  Additionally, some requests require approval of the General Membership.  Your organization will be notified when a final decision has been made.
  5. Some items that the ROSC considers in the request:
    • How will the money benefit the community
    • What are the long-term benefits of this donation?
    • Has there been an effort to raise funds on their own?
    • How many people will benefit from this donation?
    • Will this donation represent the sole source for an organization’s operating budget?
    • Have funds been received from other organizations?
  6. ROSC typically does not fund requests for food, beverages (including alcohol) or childcare.
  7. Signatures:  Requests from any teacher or organization within DoDDs Schools must be signed by the Principal of that school.  Scout requests require Troop/Pack leader signature.  Military organizations requre the unit Commander or Deputy Commanders signature.  Private organizations must have the signature of the President or leader of that organization.
  8. If a request has already been considered and declined, the request may not be resubmitted in the same calender/board year (Jan.-Dec.).
