Historian/NEWSLETTER
Reports to: VP of Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for taking, collecting, and archiving photos from various ROSC socials, activities, and welfare activities. The Public Relations Chair is responsible for promoting ROSC’s initiatives through various media outlets as well as produce the monthly digital newsletter.
Principal Accountabilities:
Attend respective monthly Governing Board meetings (not to miss more than three (3) board meetings in a term year).
Attend monthly membership meetings.
Submit a monthly consolidated report to the Recording Secretary on time to include monthly expenditures.
Ensure budget is maintained.
Prepare a revised or current job description to the Parliamentarian by mid-year.
Show respect and represent the ROSC in the community with high standards.
Submit an after-action report and timeline to the incoming President and Parliamentarian by the deadline set by the Parliamentarian.
Create a scrapbook documenting the year. One copy to be presented as a gift to the outgoing president and one digital copy for the Historian to maintain.
Position Duties and Significant Details:
Attend each ROSC social, and take photos specifically of announcements, new members, farewells, door prizes, Ways & Means raffle, and general attendees. Upload photos to Google Drive and send them to Publicity and Events Chairs.
Produce monthly newsletter featuring President’s Message, news, grants updates, Bazaar news or updates, volunteer opportunities, club spotlights, the calendar of events, and members’ birthday shoutouts.
Submit and Publicize all ROSC functions to media outlets including AFN (radio & TV), Stars & Stripes, or any additional or new channel of free advertising that becomes available.
Maintain an accurate inventory of any items that belong to the PR function. Ensuring any item(s) with a value of more than $25 is listed in the ROSC Inventory kept by the VPO, General Fund Treasurer, and Office Administrator.
